Q3 TIKTOK ROUNDUP: THE MOST MEMORABLE HASHTAG CHALLENGES

Want impactful exposure and immediate results? Hashtag challenges are your best bet. Brands have been adding TikTok to their marketing mix and have been rewarded with fruitful results. But, the key is to create something that no one has seen before. Whether it’s dancing via the duet feature, cooking with only five ingredients, or creating an entire video in reverse, hashtag challenges pushed the boundaries of creativity this past quarter.

Yesterday, we shared some of the top creators that made a splash on TikTok over the past three months. As a part of our quarterly roundup, we also wanted to shine a light on some of the most memorable hashtag challenges that earned measurable results for brands and entertainers alike. Here are some highlights!

#AySauceChallenge (ASOS)

We don’t know about you, but turns out we’ve been pronouncing ASOS wrong all along. And what better way to incorporate brand knowledge into a TikTok campaign than with a hashtag that spells it out for you? Check out ASOS’ #AySauceChallenge below and see how users got creative when sharing their favorite ASOS looks:

#TimeforTENET (Warner Bros.)

Movie promotion in 2020 is odd to say the least, but that didn’t stop Movers+Shakers from creating a disruptive hashtag challenge for Warner Bros.’ first theatrical release post-COVID! By giving users the freedom to be their own filmmaker and create videos in reverse a la TENET, we saw some truly exceptional submissions.

#QuickRecipes (Bounty)

Bounty sponsored a pre-existing hashtag (#QuickRecipes) that already had more than 3 BILLION views prior to the challenge launch. The paper towel company put their own spin on the trending hashtag and encouraged users to share quick, 5-ingredient recipes with the Quicker Picker Upper right by their side. 🥗 🌮 🍔

#PaTiChallenge (Jennifer Lopez)

Jennifer Lopez didn’t waste any time creating the latest dance craze to promote her new single, “PaTi,” on TikTok! The superstar got users on their feet and dancing with the help of some of the app’s top creators, including Charli D’Amelio and Addison Re. Over 2 BILLION views later, we dare you to listen and not groove along.
