We’re excited to welcome three incredible members to our Movers+Shakers team! Amidst this hyper-growth, we remain committed to our culture and our values. But don’t take our word for it! We decided to check in with the newest additions to see how we are doing. Here’s what they had to say about their experience with Movers+Shakers so far.

 

Emma Sullivan, Creative Director

Emma brings over a decade of experience solving problems for some of the world’s most beloved brands. When Emma is not cracking briefs, she shares her knowledge with students as a lecturer and mentor at FIT where she speaks about the benefits of effectively marrying creative and strategy. 

First impression of the company: “The focus on the people and our internal culture. Having lived the start-up agency world throughout my career, I've found that many companies at this stage are laser focused on outward expressions – making impact through the work, having early wins, scoring clients. While M+S is all that and more, we also focus heavily on our people and I appreciate that beyond belief as a new joiner!”

First impression of our work: “The work I've seen from Movers+Shakers is the kind of work that bigger agencies dream of making. We work at the fastest clip I've experienced which allows us to activate with the speed of culture. Many places purport to do this, but I am seeing it myself firsthand and I am so proud to be a part of it!”

What has been the most surprising thing? “Truly embracing and learning from failure! Embodying a YOLO, we'll figure-it-out-as-we-go kind of mentality is refreshing and unlocks authentic creative ideas because that is how culture is created. Trends happen through exploration and happy accidents and that is exactly how we approach our work.”

 
 
 

Josh Ratliff, Account Director

Josh has been in the marketing and advertising game for 15 years. He’s looking forward to growing with us and figuring out how we can innovative with our clients everyday in a rapidly evolving digital world. Welcome to the team Josh!

First impression of the company:  “Inclusivity. It's in the DNA here, from how we collaborate among each other and with our clients.”

Most reassuring first impression: “Thankfully being an expert TikTok creator is not a requirement!”

First impression of the team: “Never have I ever received such an emoticon filled welcome than when I arrived. And I'm HERE for it.”

What has been the most surprising thing? “Feeling like a blogger or talk show host from using a ring light for all those zoom calls!”

 
 
 

John McGill, Creative Director

John comes to us with 15 years of experience making ad campaigns, creating social content and building teams for CPG and Entertainment brands. He started off in art direction, but later turned to copywriting with dreams of someday writing a jingle as good as this. 😂

First Impression of the company: “I've been impressed with how welcoming the team has been, pulling me into meetings and letting me get involved right off the bat. My other first impression is that there is a ton of opportunity at Movers+Shakers and sky's the limit.”

First impression of our work: “The M+S mission of bringing joy is evident in all of the work the agency does!”

What has been the most surprising thing? “The most surprising thing has been the level of organization and depth of knowledge around being successful on TikTok—it's beyond what I expected. I'm looking forward to absorbing all of it.”
